Welcome to Capture My Arizona

The Candle by David Grower

Welcome to Capture My Arizona, folks! We certainly hope you enjoy your time here. Capture My Arizona is all about finding the best photos of Arizona and we're asking for your help. If you're a photographer, upload your photos and see how they measure up. Top-rated photos and editors' picks will be featured in digital publications called showcases and the best of the best could be selected for potential upcoming real-world products like books and calendars (assuming you opt-in to allow your photos for such use). If you're not a photographer, we could use your help too! Vote for photos to shape the best of Arizona. Your photos. Your votes. The best of Arizona, by you!

As you poke around the site, you'll note we have a bunch of features to enrich the experience. Be sure to check out the how it works page for a full rundown on how to use the site. There are a few features we'd like to draw your attention to:

The Wave by Tom RocheShare Photos: You can show off your photos, or share unique finds, on Facebook, Twitter and via email. On any photo page, enter an email address in the email box or click the the tweet, like or send buttons to share photos with your friends and family. Help spread the word about Capture My Arizona! Invite your friends and family to submit their photos and vote for the best of Arizona.

Connect with Us: We have a Facebook page and a Twitter profile. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to see quick photo features, project highlights and news.

Aspens in Autumn, San Francisco Peaks, Arizona by Marcus W. ReinkensmeyerChallenges: To help focus submissions into particular themes, we'll run challenges from time to time. Challenges are a great way to get everyone out there taking pictures of the same types of things, then seeing how everyone's photos rank. It's fun! Plus, we'll have some prizes to give away for challenge winners. Stay tuned for challenge announcements.

Currently Voting: You can lock your voting flow to photos from a particular photographer, a certain category, challenge photos or photos from a specific place. To change what you're currently voting for, click the Currently Icon icon wherever it appears. Also, pay close attention to the currently bar.

Follow Users: We've done a lot to add to the user interactivity of the site. Take a peek at your dashboard (logged in) and you should get an idea of our efforts to encourage users to interact with one another. One way to interact with photographers you love is to follow them. Any time they submit a new photo or love others' photos you'll see it right on your dashboard. It's a great way to explore photos of Arizona.

We hope you find these features useful. As always, please search the help and contact us if you have any questions. Now... fire up your cameras and get out there and capture Arizona!
