Unusual Bokeh
This is a simple picture of a candle with some white christmas lights in the background. To get the flame shaped bokeh I used my 50mm prime lens set at f1.7, and I placed a piece of black construction paper in front of the lens with a small flame-shaped hole cut out in the center. This basically gives the lens iris a different shape, and all out of focus points of light will conform to that shape.

About Me
Amateur photographer.
My father got me interested in photography as a kid with his Rolleicord medium-format twin lense reflex camera and later a Canon FTb 35mm. We even converted a large closet into B&W darkroom - that was fun.
It wasn't until 2009 that I seriously started getting into digital SLR photography after buying a Pentax *istDL on clearance. Since then I have upgraded twice to a Pentax K-x and more recently to the amazing Pentax K-5.
