Rise of a Super Power

The brightest super moon in over 70 years bursts over the rim of the Grand Canyon on November 14, 2016, illuminating colorful rock layers and stone sentinels in the deep canyon gorge below. I joined with a handful of other nature lovers, in anticipation of experiencing the rise of this glowing super power. We watched in awe as the last light of day kissed these fiery cliffs with lavish floodlit autumn colors, ultimately leaving the canyon blanketed in darkness and silence. Standing on the edge of this deep precipice in the twilight, we watched the horizon in anticipation, guessing where the moon would appear. An audible gasp escaped collectively from virtually everyone gathered there as brilliant white light surrounded with a red glow suddenly exploded over craggy monuments, as the moon first appeared on the horizon in all her glory!
